The American Water Security Project and Pinellas County Utilities are proud to announce the Innovative Funding Partnerships for a Secure Water Future workshop. The Florida 2020 legislative session passed new rules that mandate all municipalities review and implement comprehensive wastewater infrastructure and management plans. For middle- to smaller-sized municipalities, this may create budget shortfalls when implementing needed repairs and wished-for upgrades.

The Innovative Funding Partnerships for a Secure Water Future workshop brings funding experts from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Infrastructure Financing and Innovation Act (WIFIA); the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Public Assistance Grant program; Florida Department of Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund; and bond issue experts from Corolla Engineering.

The program, through case studies, will provide information of how to best use funding options to stay in compliance with new regulations or make repairs or upgrades for existing infrastructure.
